I came to Ireland from Ukraine due to the war almost two years ago. Because my house was destroyed by a missile and my city was occupied I couldn`t return to Ukraine. So, I decided to try to integrate.
First, I started learning English because I had only basic knowledge. Then I started looking for more focused courses since I’ve got bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Audit and worked as a bookkeeper in manufacturing companies in Ukraine. I happened to stumble onto a www.springboardcourses.ie where I found the program from the PAT Business School.
I like learning online because I’m embarrassed by my accent and I’d be uncomfortable with the public attention in the audience. Also, I need more time to understand the subject matter that I can do by revising the lecture recording, reading the manual and making notes for myself.
It is especially important for me as a non-native speaker to explain the subject by the lecturer simple language and not academic. For which I want to thank Stephen Fennell, who explains “the rules of the ACCA game” and provides a framework for preparing the exam.
I also want to thank the whole team of PAT Business School for their work “behind the scenes” because to bring light to minds of students is always difficult and requires courage.

Before starting my journey with PAT Business School, I had done a single year on University were I was studying to become an internal auditor. But as life would have it, due to quite unfortune circumstances I could not continue this journey. For about two years I was left with no hope of ever continuing my dream of finishing my education, Until a friend of my mom’s mentioned PAT Business School and that is when my life began to look somewhat hopeful again.
My experience with PAT Business School has been nothing but amazing. Everyone that I have interacted with have been friendly and kind. There is no judgement only understanding, support and motivation and this is felt throughout PAT Business School, whether it is in the lectures, Whatsapp groups and email interactions.
The lecturers are amazing at teaching and make everything , not easy, but manageable, as they teach in a way that makes it easier for you to understand, focusing not only the coursework but also incorporating everyday life into examples. With being able to watch recording of lectures, this has been a life saver as I am hardly ever able to attend live lectures.
 I chose to continue studying with PAT Business School because they are brilliant.

What can I say about Gerry and PAT? Gerry is an absolute professional and goes above and beyond what is required by a lecturer.
I’ve completed both F7 and SBR with Gerry and he is there every step of the way with you motivating, pushing you and making you be the best you can be.
I’ll miss his short stories in class as they always give me a smile and laugh but they somehow feed into topic of the day and I’m sure I picked up a few percent from them. The little motivational snippets Gerry sends are great when times get hard and for me they helped keep my focus.
PAT are all about students passing first time. This is the priority and it’s why I achieved over 60 in both exams with Gerry and why PAT smashes global averages every quarter.
I’ve 2 exams left and these are both with Terry and I’m very confident I’m in good hands to pass both first time.
For anyone serious about getting ACCA qualification I would highly recommend PAT.

Gerry is undoubtedly the one of the best lecturers/people I’ve had the pleasure of coming across throughout my professional life. His unwavering enthusiasm and methodical approach makes even the most challenging of subject matters far more digestible than any online resource can provide. Thanks to Gerry’s ability to seamlessly integrate the computer-based approach into his teaching practices, it made for a very familiar setting on the day and I was able to pass the SBR exam first time as a result in March 2020, which was the inaugural sitting on the professional level CBE’s. What’s perhaps more impressive and one of the key aspects that sets Gerry apart from other lecturers, is his genuine desire for all students to do well. Whether it be through daily emails of confidence reaffirmation in the form of inspirational quotes, or through his ability to be on a first name basis with virtually all students by the end of lecture 1. I could not recommend Gerry and his Professional Accountancy Training colleagues highly enough to anybody who is looking to complete the ACCA qualification.
