Professional Practice in Fintech Risk and Compliance is one semester and offers up to three hours CPD. It is supported by mentors focusing on work-based learning and competencies. It builds on the learning outcomes from the Diploma and enhances graduates’ career paths in the evolving financial services risk and compliance profession.
Semester 1
Professional Communications & Employment Preparation (5 ECTS)
The focus of this module is employability. It is intended that students will be enabled through practical application to create and or enhance their C.V.’s and gain interview, communication and
presentation skills. With the global expansion of businesses and cultural diversity, there is an increase in demand for graduates with excellent communication and presentation skills.
Professional Practice in Fintech Risk and Compliance (15 ECTS)
This module aims to develop practical competencies and communication skills necessary to work in the financial services industry, with an emphasis on the evolving impact of technology and innovation on risk and compliance professional practice. Learners represent the transition to a more diverse regional and national base of financial services providers, and include more traditional financial services professionals looking for opportunities to leverage their transferable skills to transition into risk & compliance roles.
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of the module the learner will be able to:
- Demonstrate professional judgement in the context of the risk & compliance practices relevant to their chosen financial services provider/employer.
- Demonstrate practical knowledge and understanding of the Fintech Operating Environment of their chosen financial services provider / employer.
- Demonstrate an awareness of Regtech / Fintech solutions as applicable to their chosen financial services provider/employer.
- Demonstrate competence in the application of effective processes required to comply with regulatory requirements as applicable to their chosen financial services provider / employer.
- Demonstrate an understanding and application of the ethical practices and their personal responsibility thereto.
- Demonstrate awareness of and commitment to environmentally and socially sustainable practices.
- Demonstrate competency in the application of transversal skills in the workplace (with an emphasis of expression within the first person).
Assessment:
100% Course work.
Using Moodle and the competency framework provided, the learners will capture their learning and provide evidence of how they have developed a range of competencies.
The learner will reflect on his/her development as a professional practitioner.
The learner will submit a comprehensive reflective report on their development as a professional practitioner.
